Question:

I live in Rutherglen Scotland. I'm interested in the history between towns here and in Australia. Any ideas

I know there is a town somewhere in Australia called Rutherglen. Thank you in advance

I'm not sure what you're asking.  If you are referring to same place names... like Perth, Glenrowan and Inverloch (etc), the majority of Australian place names are either aboriginal in origin, or named after somewhere in the U.K.  Hence, New South Wales -- although why the South of Wales is so noteworthy I have no clue.  LOL

    As for Rutherglen... it's in Victoria.  It's greatest claim to fame is for its wines.  Something I doubt it shares with its namesake in Scotland.  LOL  However, I do know Rutherglen is a beautiful part of the state (having been there many times); something I presume it DOES share with its namesake.
