  1. What did people expect when they voted two oil men in to office?!? It'll go down when the current administration goes out. :)

  2. yikes! I pay 3.50 and complain!

    I will no longer complain!!

This administration needs to get up and out.

  3. It will not go back down because the oil company's know we will only talk about cutting back or boycotting them, Americans need to wake up and stop talking about doing things and start doing it, everything is getting out of control because we (American) only talk about doing things, just my 2 cents

  4. The price of gas is not going down.  Demand has increased due to the greater number of car drivers in China and India, among other things.  As for McCain, gas taxes pay for infrastructure such as repair to potholes, bridges, widening and a host of other services we can only afford through together pooling our monies through taxes.  He was pandering, which is what politicians do, especially during campaigns.  I am very sorry but this is a political issue.  We have had not energy policy  other than catering to the oil and auto industry for the last 7 years and a pretty lax one for as long as I can remember  before that, regardless of the party in charge.  Plenty of politicians on the federal, state and local levels are making suggestions, and have for years about reducing our dependency on oil, whether foreign or domestic, and putting our efforts toward expanding public transit through rapid bus transit, train, light rail, a trolley systems.  They get shouted down by the anti-tax nuts and politicians beholding to the oil and auto industries.  I worked for a politician who almost exclusively rides his bicycle, walks, or takes a bus everywhere.  Anyone who has every traveled in Europe can tell you public transit is a marvelous system that we could impliment here.

  5. Try this website to shop for cheaper gas.

  6. The tax will make a small difference in price and only for a short term. People will buy a little bit more fuel at the lower price. As a result, the prices will go right back up.

The problem is that the tax is used for road maintenance. What is going to end up happening is that you will pay more in other taxes or drive on worse roads. When the tax is reinstated, the price will simply jump. Maybe it will settle, but it will probably stick.

This type of reduction of tax has failed in the past and should not be repeated..

  7. I took a business class and someone brought an article that said one particular oil company in one year had 60% profit.  I work for a company that is in the billions as far a sale, but there profit is in the millions.  Oil company shouldn't be able to make that much profit.

The government will have to step in at some point, or alot of companies could go out of business (mainly truck driving companies).

  8. I am totally opposed to any suspension of the Federal Tax on gas and fuel.  As people drive less and buy less fuel, less tax revenue is being generated.  A few years ago the Governor of Indiana suspended the state tax on gas and fuel.  Put our state into a deficit.  Our Federal highway infrastructure is in need of funding for bridge repairs and road rebuilding.  Where is this money going to come from?  I am for the Federal Tax on gas and fuel being increased a penny or two.  I do not like paying the high prices, but I do like driving on good roads.  I do agree we need to stop electing Texas Oilmen to high offices of our Federal Government.

  9. the price of gas will never go down more than a few pennies. It will go higher but never lower,,,unless there is no demand for it. Understand????
