It depends on what kind of coverage your looking for, do you want full or just the bare minimum for CA.  I live in San Diego too and I went with GEICO to insure my 2005 R1.  I only pay $400 a year for full coverage but I've been riding for 10 yrs. and I have 1 accident, which was 7 yrs ago.  Whoever you go with I'm sure it will be pretty cheap for a 150cc scooter.
