If your kid is homeschooled and like not in a program or anything is she/he still required to take the TAKS test. When she/he gets to high school will she/he still get a diploma for all the grades if she doesn't take the TAKS test each year? PLEAE I WILL GIVE A BEST ANSWER!!

  1. No, your homeschooled child does not have to take the TAKS.

    Yes, the student can still have a diploma. Homeschools are private schools in Texas--they can issue diplomas.

    You don't have to go by state regulations. The best guideline I can say to use is if you know your child can handle the next grade, do it.

    What I did (as to avoid TAKS and all that other c**p) was take the GED test. I know it isn't a high school diploma, but it is just as good as one.
