There is always an ongoing war b/w 2 and 4 stroke engines, just search and you'll see.

4 strokes: are quiter, a little more fuel efficient, cleaner emissions, but cost more to buy and fix - more complicated engines.

2 strokes: are less expensive to buy and fix, much simpler engines, may need to premix your gas/oil, but can be direct fuel injected, most say have more thrust/pickup speed, lighter than 4 strokes at same HP, and many say will last much longer/don't break down often.
