Can I bring my dog into Canada with proper shot record, etc??

Absolutely. But be sure to check if the Hotel you're planning to stay in accept dogs. :)

No problem at all in fact you will probably not be asked about papers for the dog but bring them just in case.  Hopefully you speak a bit of French or at least try and the person you are talking to will switch to English.
