We found a baby bird & I would like to find someone who knows about them to take over care. We don't want it to die!

  1. If it was on the ground and has feathers, it's likely that the parents were still caring for it. Baby birds normally leave the nest before they can fly, and the parents feed them while they are on the ground or climbing around in trees.

I guess it's night time there now, so if you still have the bird, you can't really put it back outside to see if the parents come back. I'd suggest trying that first thing in the morning. Put it in a sheltered place near where you found it, and watch it from a place where the parents can't see you. If they come back, you can just leave it. If they don't come back, I'd suggest calling a vet and asking them to put you in contact with a wildlife rehabilitator.

    Hope that helps.
