I only have one fan and the windowsill is an inefficient setup.

  1. Get a rectangular fan, the kind you close the window on.  They have expandable sides, and usually have two fan "propellers."  Put that in your window, and it will pull air from the gaps around your door, through your room, and out.

  2. you can buy a clip on fan, typically sold @ places like home depot and such, to give you more freedom in installation, or maybe a small "squirrel cage" type fan

  3. Is it a double hung window? If so, pull down the top window slightly. This will allow the warm air to vent and cooler air to be sucked in at the bottom.

  4. An oscillating floor fan would work - you can push it into the corner when not in use.

  5. I have found that if I take my fan and face it up toward the ceiling....it will move the hot air toward the ceiling around and make the room cooler.  I have a fan that can move into a face-up position and just sits on the floor. When the hot air just seems to sit on the ceiling and makes the room swelter...it's nice to get it moving around.

  6. Oscillating fans work well, but they can be loud.  I would try it before throwing away the receipt, or get it at Wal-Mart (boo) because they let you return pretty much anything no questions asked.

  7. You just open the door. Thank You
