  1. if your area always has very little rain, you have 3 choices.

    1. water the heck out of it for ever more

    2. just do a brown lawn, others are probably the same.

    3. haul in 2"-3" stone, and spray paint it green.

  2. In Orange County California the local government is requesting water conservation due to a drought.  They recommend a switch to Astroturf to save water.

  3. Many grasses go dormant in drought, but are not dead.  Often they revive when the weather cools and the rains come back.   I hope that will be the case for you.  My own Yard is wire grass and it has been so dry even it is brown, but I promise you it isn't dead.

  4. Water it daily and do it slowly so the ground can absorb the water and get down several layers. Make sure you do this when the sun is not so intense. Morning or dusk is always better, then when you get the ground moist and the grass comes back (and it will) from the dormant stage - give it some nutrient rich fertizer to get it stronger. Keep watering or it will yellow up again

  5. 1) water

    2) get check book out

Your gonna have a big water bill

    My Best

  6. Grass typically does go dormant (turns brown, stops growing) during the summer months if there hasn't been adequate rain.

But it's not dead!  You don't really have to do anything to it or for it ... in fact, doing nothing at all is best.

Don't mow it (why would you?!), don't fertilize it, don't even water it.  Once the weather cools down and you get some rain, it will come back to life (seemingly like magic!)

Where you live (what climate zone) will determine how late in the year you can re-seed, if necessary, to fill in any bare spots.  Don't bother trying to plant or fix anything right now, though ... just leave it alone and reassess the situation later in a few weeks.
