  1. Yes, because you live in the state of California, you are obligated to pay state taxes even on labor from another state.

  2. More than likely you do, unless it is an exempt retirement. And from my dealings with California I don't think they have anything that is exempt...they want to make up the rules as they go along.

    I have had several clients that worked in California and moved to another state and then retired...California still tried to collect tax on that retirement...claiming it was earned in California so it was taxable in California.  

    Many of my client work for NASA and are often sent to California; because of recent actions California took NASA will rotate them every couple of weeks now (to keep them from being liable for California tax).

    They are real friendly out there in California...good luck with the tax laws out there.

  3. Yes, you will report your worldwide income on CA tax return. If you meet the filing requirement, you must file CA tax return.
