and i am fed up of the std bills is there any cheaper alternative

for making cals right now its Rs 1.50 per min and my bills end up around 5-6 k for her alone every month!

please help

if 499 is too expensive for you then switch to the airtel std card that will be around rs.50 per month. it is the best alternative. your std call rates come down but your local calls goes to 1re per minute. if you ca afford the reliance 499 per month the go for it. else you can also call 123 for latest offers

why u cant try reliance coz they have unlimited R 2 R free std calls for just 499/ month

Even i went through the same motion when i was working in bangalore and my mom& dad lived in chennai. The bill amount used to go beyond 4-5K every month (in 2004-6). I was little worried abt the bill amt and at the sametime i cant stay without talking to my parent.

Solution: I bot a new Laptop for myself and a Pc for my Dad. we started chatting and later on we got into Video conferencing. the benefit of this is tat i can chat with my dad/mom for unlimited period of time (sometimes the call duration goes beyond 3-4 hrs on weekend) also i can see them and never felt that i'm faraway from them. I ended up paying the 5k ( which i normally pay for the Cell company ) for the Laptop loan/PC loan. after some years these two items i can sell later.

As per ur question, i presume that u both work. so both of u can buy a laptop and have sleepless night (i mean by doing voice chat)

simple pick up reliance . its not a very bad connection. you can make unlimited std calls on the reliance plan.

in Airtel there is post paid plan , i.e. Rs.299/- . in this plan you can call any mobile and land line with 49paisa only(local), 99 paisa for all STDs and for SMS it is 30 paisa only . this plan is better for both of u and Airtel network also good compared to other networks.
