  1. The U.S. does not require you to give up your U.s. citizenship...so DON't.  You can have dual citizenshio, if you want to get citizenship in Costa Rica.

  3. If you forfeit your US Citizenship you also forfeit all benefits associated with it (including Social Security, Medicaid, etc.).

    I would do a lot of research prior to giving up your citizenship...  it is possible to live in many countries without changing citizenship.

  4. You can keep both citizenship as other have replied. There is no need to renounce it unless you want to. Here is a link on the official U.S. stance on dual citizenship:
