  1. To correct the guy above me - we DO have military recruiters here in Germany, but only on military installations which are not accessible to unauthorized civilians, such as yourself. We don't have any USMC recruiters here though, since they are not stationed in Germany. If they are it's only temporary but, recruiters do not come along.

That's as far as I can help you. Either way - it's best to get actual face to face time with a recruiter, so you might want to start planning a trip to the US.

  2. Why would there be an American recruiting center in Germany?

  3. the only overseas recruiter I know of is Army.  he( and his mother cider33Alpha) post on www.military.com.  he is in Germany if I recall correctly.  it is entirely possible the Marines do not have a recruiter in Germany at all.

most OCONUS locations DO have recruiters.. but they are typically limited to the Branch that has the base.. there were Navy recruiters in Yokosuka Japan.  and they are on the base, so only authorized dependents can access them.

  4. fact is there are no recruiters in foreign countries (unless they are considered american territories) you need to come to the states.

  5. U.S. citizens or Permanent Resident Aliens (people who have an INS I-151/I-551 "Green Card") may join the U.S. Military. For more information about citizenship, visit the U.S. Immigration and Nationalization (INS) web site.

Noncitizens may enlist, but cannot re-enlist (extend their enlistment beyond their first term of service) unless they become naturalized U.S. citizens. However, after service of three years, additional residency requirements for citizenship can be waived. The Military does not assist in the immigration naturalization process.

For enlistment purposes, the United States includes Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Northern Marianas Islands, American Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands.

Citizens of certain countries may require a waiver to enlist. These include citizens of countries considered hostile to the interests of the United States. For more specific information on the current list of hostile countries, or for other specific questions, contact a recruiter.

Finding a recruiter may be near impossible in germany. You'll either have to make some long distance calls or go through the yellow pages in the US and find a recruiter who has email access and ask all your questions.
