  1. Check out the following...

    www.uscis.gov

You will find all the answers you need to begin the immigration process. Be advised, it can be long, expensive and tedious, but it IS possible.

  2. you need to call the U.S. embassy in Dublin it is alot easier than doing stuff on the web.......they will walk you through the process and you will have direct contact with a person that you will be able to question and advise you.

  3. If you were a Jewish carpenter

    you would have no problem.

  4. There is no category of visa which covers carpenters and other semi-skilled labor.  You would not qualify for any type of work permit or employment pass.

As for immigration, your chances are poor, and you're not going to find work when you get here, at least not any work that would support you.  The housing industry is in meltdown.  We have such a flood of illegal aliens doing painting, drywalling, carpentry, roofing, etc. that wages have dropped more than 50% in the past decade (in nominal terms -- inflation-adjusted terms would make you cry).  And the market is so bad now that even the illegal aliens are heading back to the border due to the lack of work.

Immigration to the USA is not a viable proposition for you.  Besides taxes are lower in Ireland.

  5. Why would you want to do that?  I guess when you converted your money you would get almost twice as much in us dollars. I want to move to Ireland sometime in the future and get far away from this **** hole fasicist country
