  1. You could do great for the hot water. You could start small

and do it your self  this website might give you a start..

  2. BP solar has a calculator, to replace all your consumption with PV, it would cost about $120,000 to $160,000.  You're paying what, $250 or so a month, the system would pay for itself after 40 years.

Personally I'm holding off till 2010, prices will be 1/4 or less than the current prices, we just have to wait while production ramps up on the thin film products.

  3. Solar Energy is a great option (especially in Texas, as you can get some of the best energy results down there...)

There is a website designed to connect you with local Solar Professionals and answer any questions you have. Sign up for a free membership (takes 1 minute) and then you can either 'Chat with an Expert' or 'Request a Free Consultation'. The professionals can discuss your specific situation and advise you about the costs and the best route to go.

    Go check out

  4. Temp has nothing to do with it.  Sunlight is what you need.  Its expensive short term but long term it may pay for itself especially if energy prices continue to rise with coal and oil.

  5. I hear it could cost as much as $50,000 dollars to convert but i hear that the outcome is outstanding
