I live in michigan and want to sell a shotgun. I am selling it to a individual not a corporation. How do i do this? do i have to have a back round check ran on them? Pleae help! Thanks!

Call your local Police Department and ask one of the officers.  They will have a better idea than most.

That's background... not back round! Now to answer your question. There is no law in any state that prevents a private citizen from selling a firearm to an other private citizen. It's called a private sale. As such, you have no obligation or legal requirement to perform any checks on the individual to whom you are selling the weapon.

I recommend that the sale be cash only with a bill of sale which you keep as proof you sold the weapon.
