My basement is almost split in half. One side finished with carpet and my furniture. Other side unfinished with open craw space and an area where our freezer and old stuff is. Can i buy a generic bug bomb and open the doors which open up both halves and prevent like any problems. Would it kill bugs on both sides with one bomb. Would it be effective?

  1. Go to your local department store & look for Combat bug killer.  My grandma had ruoches, ants, etc., in her house.  We spent $50 to $100 dollars on those smoke bombs, & they didn't help.     Finally a friend told us about Combat bug killer, & within less than a month, there was not a living bug in the house.  I'd recommed Combat bug killer to anyone!!  It really works wonders!!!!

  2. Do you have a gas fired water heater?

Is it located in your basement? If so, You are going to blast your parents home apart once your bug bomb gas is ignited by the pilot light of the water heater.

  3. My experience with bug bombs is with flea bombs, and they are remarkably ineffective.  Further, each bomb is sized for X sq ft of uninterrupted space, so it typically requires at least one bomb per room of a house.

What leads you to believe you've got an insect problem?  If you don't see any signs of insect activity, why expose yourself to a pesticide?

  4. Yes it will buy some combat traps as well good luck

  5. all depends on how big the basement is i would go for two but not go down there for a couple of hours

  6. Typically it will depend upon the size of the room you are using it in. You will need to keep the doors closed for it to work properly! And you will need to repeat the process in two weeks for maximum effect.

Since it is in the basement:

    1) Get your parents permission first.

Why? Because it is in the furnace area and will travel upstairs through the vent pipes!

    2) You need to clear out for a couple of hours when using a bug bomb, and would need to close off the furnace vent(s) first. And just in case it does travel upstairs, everyone needs to clear out...

    Hope this helps!

  7. All of these answers make since but you may also need to treat the whole house. Doing just the basement might be just a quick fix and may not necessarily solve your overall problem...

  8. We just bug bombed our house 3 days ago..

We went to the hardware store and got this pianting plastic, and we put it over all of the furniture. and we covered the floor two. we did our bomb, and left it over night.

then just be sure to clean really well. So you dont die. :)

    good luck.

oh and half of our house has carpet just cover it really good.

If you put it right in the middle it should work.

  9. Measure the square footage. Leignth times width = square footage. Read the can for coverage area and use appropriate ammount of bug bombs. Yes they will kill according to the directions.
