I have never heard of one doing it either. but you could easily make a deal with a dude at the farmer's market to bring you some. here is how to find a certified farmer's market in cali:

and u can grow them. this is a very good time of year to get old transplants. like at the garden center the plants that have not been sold are just as old as the ones that were sold and

tomatoes fruit according to how old they are, not how big they are. so u can get a few plants and they will likely have a few green ones on there already. also they will grow quickly and produce more if u give them a nice pot full of good soil because tomatoes spring back very well.
