I live in southern illinois& i have a problem with possibly cats?

i have a beautiful begonia flower that is just doing wonderful with only one little problem, i have found that every morning when i get up the soil is dug almost completely out of my beautiful plant. ive already tried moth balls(didnt work)does anyone have any suggestions how to help me?
