  1. you and your wife need to discuss that and figure out which name you want you baby to have i did not change my last name when i got married but i gave my daughter her fathers last name but it really up to you and your wife

  2. There is actually a law in Texas that requires that the father's surname is used for the child's surname when the parents are married to each other. Hyphenation is permitted.  Unless something recent has set that aside, that's the current law.  There are exceptions, but they require a judge to determine their merit.

  3. Whichever one you choose. The child doesn't have to take either of your names if you chose to. You choose the name not anyone else.

  4. Tell her to use both

  5. You could do either last name. SHe does not have to have your last name but the baby still can. Or you could put it as her last name. I live in fort worth

  6. Whatever name you write on the paperwork in the hospital.  For my children it is my surname AND my husbands surname, separated by a hyphen.

  7. Whatever name you put on it. It can always be changed later, but it takes a court date to do it. I also live in Texas and know that both parents that are present can put whatever they want on the birth record. Good luck!
