  1. Don't bother to vote, you won't make a difference anyway.

  2. Congratulations.  To vote in the November elections, you need to register by October 20, 2008, so you will have plenty of time.  You can register on line, or by mail, or with a local registrar.  Here is the information:

  3. Congratulations on getting your citizenship!!!That's great to hear. The best advice I can give you is to contact the voter's registration office in your county. They will be able to assist you with anything you need.I'm not sure what the cutoff date is for registration to qualify you to vote in the upcoming election, but I think here in Tennessee it has passed already.

  4. States determine cut-off dates for voting eligibility. You have to check with your local voter registration office. I can't think of any state that has a cut-off this far from November. Some states allow you to register and vote the same day. South Carolina has a 30 cut-off date. I looked it up. Your registration has to be postmarked by October 20, 2008 to vote in the November election. Plenty of time for you to register following your oath in July.

  5. Congratulations American!  Once you've taken the oath, contact your local Courthouse and ask for the Voter Registration office.  You would be able to register to vote as of the day you officially become a citizen.

Since the general election isn't until November, you should be eligible to vote in that election.

    Again, congratulations!
