I can't decide whether it would be best for me to study in New Zealand or Australia so I'm wondering if one offers cheaper courses than the other and can I do a NZVQ or do I have to do a diploma? Also, do you have to learn somewhere private or can you go to a community college because I've been looking up fees and they're sooo expensive! Thank you so much for any help or info you can give x

  1. Hi.

I think that Australia may be a little more expensive than NZ.  As you aren't a citizen of either country you will need to pay international fees. (About $15,000 pa in NZ)

Re hairdressing, I've put some links in the source below. Manukau Tech (MIT) has a 2 year course for hairdressing. A 1 year fundamentals certificate, followed by a 1 year advanced certificate:

According to their website, after the second year you can get the "City & Guilds Diploma."

    HTH

    Kind regards,
