Question:

I live in the Uk --what can I start to grow now?

Or should I wait until next year? I really wanted root vegetables-but a previous person said it was a little late. Help please ;)

  1. you can plant any perennial plant (ones that come back each year) intact it's a good time for them to be planted as they will have an early start in the springtime.  Also any shrub could go in now but leave annual plants and veg till after the frosts next year.  Good luck with your new garden.


  2. If you get them started indoors -possible beetroot.

    Alternatively you may be able to get young winter veg plants from the nursery.

    You could try brussel sprouts- sow them now and harvest for chrismas dinner.

  3. wait til next year  you havent got the weather now to start growing

  4. Preparing to plant spring bulbs in October-ish is really where most gardeners thoughts are directed now :-)
