  1. At 22 years the "child" is an adult and can decide whether or not he/she WANTS to get into commercial modleing and how to go about doing so themselves.

  2. Find a reputable agency

careful for scams and people trying to get you to do a bunch of pictures with their photographer for a hefty price.

  3. Trying to pimp your daughter out. Why don't you put the eergy into raising her as a christian and do volunteer work or something productive, and meaningful.

  4. I am going to assume that you meant 22 month old since this is in the Toddler and Preschooler category.

I have a daughter who acts and models, and my son wants to sign up.  I will probably sign my baby up as well.  The first thing you need to do is find an agency in your area.  Know that there may be some start up costs, even if they are legitimate (only bigger markets can take on new talent and cover the related costs).  However, at your daughter's age, pictures should not be necessary-just make sure you keep supplying updated snapshots of her to the agency.

You need to be able to be reached at all times (cell phone or beeper), be able to go on short notice (sometimes only a few hours) and you need to be able to let others be in control of your child.  They DO NOT like pushy parents.  Also, you need to have a babysitter for any other children, as it is not proper etiquette to take any children on a call other than the one that is there for the audition or job.

Your child needs to be more than just pretty-s/he needs to work well with strangers and have a happy disposition.

Before you sign any contracts, you need to check out the agency.  Google it, check with the BBB.  Many agencies will claim ties to a big name, but it could be that it was years ago or that that person was involved with them in some small way for a short period of time-it does not mean that the agency is responsible for their fame.  They may try to get you to sign something right away-do not do it.  Hint that you are going to have your lawyer look it over-and consider actually doing that.

Most of all, make sure your child likes it.  It will be a waste of time and money if your child does not, as the agent and the casting officials will quickly see that and they will get less calls.  The same is true if you act like a "stage parent".

I hope this helps, and wish you the best!
