I live next door to a house that has been empty for about 12 years. There is a window open at the front of the property that has not been closed for as long as i can remember. There is now damp coming through the wall which i believe to be coming from the empty property. What can i do to get the property looked into or reported?

  1. Contact the town officials.  They should have on record whose property that is.  Sounds like the place is abandoned, but make sure first.

  2. Depends who owns the property but if not sure then contact citizens advice bureau and they will assist you.

  3. conact the police

  4. Damp coming through the wall is likely caused by a leaky roof.

  5. Call the city office you live in and tell them about it. They will send some one out and try to find the owner of the house.

  6. buy it then fix it then sell it

  7. If you have water damage I don't see how it could be caused by a neighboring house. You can contact the town. The owner should keep the place looking respectable within the local zoning laws.
