I live on rent in delhi (india),so plz tell me can i apply for a passport if i don't have permanent residence?

I want to apply for a passport,but i am not a permanent resident,i m working in a Software company for 2.5 yrs,and i don't have any id proof i.e. licence,voter id etc,so how can i apply for a passport?

  1. u have PAN card or your company ID proof, and your D.O.F certificate or any school or graduation certificate, you can apply on the basis of these documents.


  2. If you live in a rented accomodation, there is no problem my friend.

    You could get a certificate/letter from your company stating your address + if you have an bank account stating the address it can help u as well + if you r an Income Tax payee, you can submit ur IT Return with a copy of your PAN CARD.

  3. If you have bank account in any nationalised bank  you can subbmit it as a residential proof.

    If you don't have a permanent address then just fill up the column with your rented address no problem.

  4. yes u can apply, no problems at all. the police will come to your present residence and confirm that u are living there for quite some time. this process is called police verification.
