Gulf Coast is hard for surfing and all areas about the same as waves go..but check a site like Magicseaweed.com and wait for the waves to get over 3ft to become at least ridable...or wait till hurricane season you will get waves then!!! 7'6 min mals are perfect for learning so get out there and try it
