Should I take refuge in the bathtub with the mattress on top? Or should I go down to the first floor (which is at ground level) and take refuge in the hallway?

  1. Its best to get to a place that has an basement, if not than seek a bath tub on the 1st floor.

  2. try to get downstairs and stay in the center of the building

  3. tornado"s always take the homes all the way down to the first floor more then all think.try to look for a place close by that is more like a dip under the ground.basement is good but if there is none look to see if there is a place close to home that has a big dip and covering to it...it kinda helps to look before one has been spotted so you know where to go right away.there has been many survivied through one under a bridge type shelter..it is more protected from the stuff flying too.. it is not like a earthquake way to protect yourself,it picks all up and throws it even from the area of the city to the next city,i lived near them too..so you need to look for areas covered with a deep dip in the ground area

  4. Go to the lowest level, if you don`t have access to the basement, go to the ground floor. If there is a closet or restroom seek shelter there, otherwise stay in center hallway away from windows. The more walls between you and the outside the better. Flooding is not your immediate concern as heavy downpours do not usually occur during a tornado, hail is more likely to fall than rain.

  5. ud prollly die

  6. Tall building are much more secure than homes when it comes to Tornado....Even for a  category F5 tornado

Just stay away from the windows, find a hallway or bathroom with no window, and you will be fine

first floor can be subject to floating if you live near a body of water..So stay in the upper floor

  7. well tats a tuffy................is it tornado area over there? if it is then its good to think of a fool-proof way out in advanced, yes u should defenitly go down to the first floor, or u will most likely die (not to make u nervus or notin)

  8. Go into a closet or under a staircase.

  9. go downstairs and stay away from windows

  10. take refuge in the bathtub with the mattress on top that whould be the safest because thats what my aunt dose plz help me http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  11. bathtub or a place without windows

  12. I'd go down to first floor (or basement) and take refuge under a stairwell.

  13. It's always safer to be at a lower elevation while there is a tornado, so I'd go with the first floor.

  14. Take refuge in the stairwells or the basement of the building

  15. The best way I would assume would to hide in the closet if you don't have too much junk in there.

In the event a tornado suddenly hit, I doubt you'd have time to cover yourself in the tub with a mattress.

Even if you had enough time, it wouldn't be safe because stuff might fall on top of it, and it could be too heavy to lift, and you'd suffocate to death.

  16. Go to the place that puts the most walls between you and the storm.  That means do not go to common areas, hallways, where there is only a door between you and the wind.  Go to the innermost area of your apartment..  the room in the middle.
