1. Some insurance companies will cover significant others that are not married. My insurance through my employer will cover my significant other but I have to show proof that we have been living together for 3 years plus. What my insurance company requires is for him to show utility bills, car insurance or credit card statements that are coming directly to my house. The rates for adding a significant other are the same as if we were married. Luckily for me, we broke up after 3 years so now I don't have to pay extra premiums. Have your finacee check with his insurance company to see what their requirements are.

  2. If it's through his employer, it really depends on them and the insurance policy they provide. Some employers allow this and others don't.

  3. Most of the time, no. Why don't you just get married? Then he can add you.

You don't get marital rights without marital responsibilities.

  4. NO but after you are married, he may be able to add you on as a rider. get married first though.

  5. Your fiance needs to check with his employer and the insurance company they use. Some insurance companies do not have a "marriage" preferance and will allow live-ins or fiancees to be covered under the employees policy. Just make sure he checks with his company.

    Good Luck!
