I lived and worked in the Uk for 3 years in the 70's. Will I be entitled to a pension when I am 60?

Also how can I find out my social security number? My boss in German and worked for a year in the UK in the 70's and gets 10 pounds a month. Can I back pay in order to get a bigger amount.

  1. Not a lot

    you would be advised to contact the dept of works and pensions in Newcastle and give them your NI number - they will be able to help.


  2. You will need to speak to the NI office. They should be able to trace your NI number and look at what you paid in. Make sure you have details of old UK addresses and employers to help them search.

    You can make payments to top up your pension and the NI office will able to tell you how short you are from the full pension.

  3. I really am not sure but 3 years contributions would not give you alot of money and I imagine that if you are not a UK citizen then you are not entitled to our pension. After all I have been paying into the system for 20years.
