  1. Hi Greg,

    The reason for the above problems is simple. Windows has not found the proper driver for your Mainboard, where all the "cards" including graphics & sound are located now. This problem should not come with Branded computers if you used OEM CD.. I guess you have upgraded from ME/2000/Vista {Yep, a lot of people do "upgrade" their computer to XP from Vista ;-) } on a retail CD of Wndows XP. Just consult the computer manual to see what mainboard you have & what sound card is on it.. Even if you do not have the driver CDs, you can get them off the internet


  2. Have you installed the WinXP Service Packs?  Have you updated all the hardware drivers to the latest WinXP drivers?  These things can be done at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/.
