  2. Don't call a locksmith, they are way too expensive. You could call the cops but unless you can prove you live there they may not  help you. Try a credit card in the door, if you have a deadbolt this own't work. I have removed screens and opened unlocked windows before but if your house is locked up tight, break a window then immediately get a spare key made that you can keep someplace safe outside the house.

  3. Honestly, it will probably be cheaper to break a window & replace it than it will be to get a locksmith!

  4. It is a good experience, all of us have done this at one time or another. Remember it .  Do check your windows, one may be left unlocked, and if there are basement windows break one and let a youngster in to open the door from inside. Now is the time to protect yourself from this ever happening again. There are many choices, bury  a spare house key in a can like container under a bush shrub or wherever you choose. Leave one window open so that you can enter through it if necessary. Leave a key with a neighbor, that is home most of the time. Leave a key with your family member to call when necessary. There will be more you may think of yourself.

  5. I'm a locksmith. "Cope" is right. Our minimum call is 85.00. On a weekend or after hours it's 127.50. Break a window. Sorry to have to charge those rates but we have to..just to stay in business. A gallon of gas is over $2.50. Can't run 3 trucks with 5 bucks.
