I looing for info on Panasonic DMC-FZ7, exposure and auto bracketing?

On my camera, when I set the exposure down, then auto bracket, does it use the exposure I set as it's base point, using stops either side of that? I've heard that only expensive cameras have this capacity, mine seems to do it ok, and it sure didn't cost the earth. I'm looking for someone who may have a little more technical info than I can glean from the manual.
