  1. The BlackBerry Pearl uses a SureType QWERTY keypad, where there are two letters per key and the layout is QWERTY, like a computer keyboard. Most smartphones will use the QWERTY layout for the keypad.


  2. Because it is a PDA not a regular phone. Its more about the letters than numbers, and It is also arranged just like a computer keyboard.
