  1. Well, that is a hard question to answer. I would recommend turning your VHF dial until you get picture, but you could have lost signal for many reasons, has the weather changed? Good luck!


  2. Check to make sure the VHF dial is set to UHF (or perhaps a blank spot) before adjusting the UHF tuner.

    TVs that old usually had separate UHF & VHF antenna inputs. Check the UHF antenna. It is probably looks like a 7.5" diameter loop or a bow tie.

    If you can't get other UHF (14-69) channels, it's possible that the UHF tuner has a small vacuum tube that is burnt out. These were common in TVs of that vintage.  

    If you are located in the US, you might look into buying a converter box. After 2/17/09 your analog #14 station will probably disappear. The converter box outputs to VHF channel 3 or 4 so you don't need the UHF tuner to see digital stations. After using a government coupon, the converter will be cheaper than trying to fix an analog tuner.
