any advice on how to survive? I have running water - just nothing else! I bought some florescent lights from Rite Aid last night - but any other advice on what I can use for the next week? Also anything to entertain myself during the nights?

  1. Get an ice chest and  do as if you were camping. many places sell kerosene lamps.. it lasts much long than battery lights.Always keep batteries on hand for emergency uses, like radios. Do word puzzle books.Maybe it's good time to do some much needed cleaning in your home. maybe visit the library if they still have there power.Invest into buying a generator.

  2. radio with batteries, candles,if you dont have cooking facilities a camping stove torches(for darker places.) a book, read by candlelight. magazines ,games ninendo DS. just some ideas.

  3. Now is a good time to experience the outdoors, go camping, even if its in your backyard. Like above said get to know your neighbors.

There are just to many outdoor activitys to list.

  4. use a grill if you have an outdoor one, candles, we had a black out once and got together w/ the neighbors and played cards.  sounds cheesy, but it was really fun.
