I lost my Dish Network remote and got another one for $6 on ebay. The TV I want to program is in another room?

I know I have to be in the same room to program the TV & VCR, but what about the Dish Network? Do I have to be in the room with the converter box to program it even though the TV is in the other room?

  1. Most Remotes are IR remotes, which require a line of sight.

    If you want to control a TV in another room you need an RF remote and an RF to IR remote  or some sort of an RF-repeater.

    Check Radio Shack.
