Question:

I lost my Mexican passport in the US. Where do I report it?

The Mexican embassy says I need an "act of lost"?! (acta de extravio). Opposed to a report of theft (if it had been stolen, of course). The bottom line is that apparently I need and "official" form saying I lost it to get a replacement. Where do I get such form? I reside in Alabama.

Thank you!

  1. make first sure you are legal   then report it to  the police   an to our country embassy or consulate   if you're not legal   it  wont be any problems  you ge to stay a little longer in  US detention center to improve you english regardlessof what your embasy said  you still need to make  police report

  2. Get a police report & get it to the nearest consulate

  3. The only 'official' US form you'll be able to get will be if your local police are willing to write a report of the loss for you.  Many are willing to do that, as long as you explain the situation and ask politely.

I'm sure you know that you do not need to replace the visa until you leave the US and want to return, since a visa is only for entry.  However if you also lost the I-94 card, that is a larger - although not a huge - problem.  Any chance you kept a photocopy?
