I lost my ROE will my previous employer write me a new one so I can get employment insurance?

  1. Yes your employer should write you one. If not you can contact employment security..the records disclosure unit and get your employment history up to the last 10 years.

If you are in Canada, contact your employer to see if they can give you a "certified true copy" of their copy they keep.  (they would put "certified true copy with their signature in the comments area on the photocopy)  Employers have to keep a copy for 7 years in Canada, and send a copy to Bathhurst where EI has a copy as well.  (worst case scenario, they should have a copy there)  Some employers are using web ROE now, which means the ROE is sent electronically to EI and the ROE will be in their system already.
