I lost my S.S. Card but I have the paper. Can I use it to apply to a job?

It is at Burger King. I'm having a meeting there next week for the paper work. If I order a SS card now it will be too late but they gave me a paper that I used to get my permit (driving), so can I use that to get hired?

You will have to apply for a new one which should get to you before your interview.

If you get the job,please dont eat the food as it contains high amounts of preservative & food colourings.

Probably it will be just fine to bring the paper, however call the hiring manager and ask him or her to make sure.  In the meantime, order the SS card.  If there is a local SS office, you can go down there and they will give you a certification on the spot.

There might be other documents you can bring to establish your identity, such as a birth certificate, passport.

You should not have a problem as long as it is a social security number verification from the Social Security Administration.
