I lost my Social Security ID card. How long does it take to get it back?

Okay, so I went to the DMV a couple of weeks to go and I had to bring my SS card there to get something changed. Now I lost the SS card that I look for it. So I'm going down to the SS office tomorrow to get a replacement card. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a new one?

First thing, NOTIFY THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION OF THE LOSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

PROMPTLY!!!!!!!!!

Then, notify all law-enforcement agencies in your area of the loss, so they'll know to be on the lookout.

After you apply for it, it will take about 2 weeks. I just lost mine about a month ago and had to get a new one.
