I also have a 7 year old boxer who is devastated by the loss of him as he has been there since we bought him. He is miserable and grieving for him! I just can't help feeling so upset as he was such a lovely dog.

  1. In the summer of 06, I lost two Great Pyrenees, three weeks apart. A month after that, I lost one of my Cockers. I know how heartbreaking it is, and I am so sorry for you. I used to raise Boxers, and I know first hand what great dogs they are. As for your seven-year-old, give him extra attention and let him know how much he is loved. My remaining Great Pyrenees was grieving for the female I lost in 06, so I made him my personal baby. Even after two years he still gets special treats, and a lot of extra loving

  2. Both you and your current boxer are grieving.  It is perfectly natural.

And of course you can never replace him but still honor and cherish the memories that you both had together!

  3. 1.  This is not a question.

    2.  Are you sure he passed away - he could've just got lost?

  4. That's terrible.  I'm sorry!  Was he microchiped or wearing a collar?  What have you done to try and find him?  How/when did you lose him?  The other one can come over and play with Maximus!  He loves company!

Add: Sorry.  Well... my offer stands.

  5. some dogs that have always been around and bought up with dogs need the company of dogs. so you may need to look into getting another dog. all you can do really is give him all the love and cuddles and try and help him through it

  6. buy another hun i lost my white one last year at 12 the other is 13.

  7. Ah i'm sorry i know what it's like to lose a dog, they a part of the family.  I'm sorry you're so upset.  I know you would never want to replace your dog, but maybe getting a puppy would console your other dog and maybe ease the pain for you as well.  Good luck xx

  8. You are grieving, a perfectly natural process.

    Let it flow!

You need to get that out.

  9. I can't begin to imagine what that feels like, but I know I'm bound to find out one day when my dog goes and I'm dreading that day.

The best thing you can do is carry on as normal a life as possible for your other dog, he needs all your attention now and it will be therapeutic for you both to get through it together.

    Feel for you x

  10. I am so sorry for your loss. I got tears reading this.

  11. I understand your loss i have three dogs and know from previous experience the pain when you loose one

I know it doesn't seem like it now but you will get over it

in the past i have got another dog almost straight away especially if there is another dog in the house

look at the rescue homes in your area it will help your other dog by giving it something to focus on and will help you too

  12. awwwwwwwwww really its ok and did you put up lost dog posters with a pic of him a about him when he went missing what his name is you phone number address where he was last seen and make it pretty and laminate it and remember bright stuff because it will draw people to the pic and they will read it good luck vote me as best!

  13. I can't imagine what you are going through.  I have two dogs, a Collie cross Lab and a Yorkshire Terrier.  The collie is nearly 12 years old and is getting stiff now when he goes to get up, that enough worries me, so what it must be like to lose your dog must be heart wrenching.

I sympathise with you  so much.  At 9 I imagine it was an illness or an accident, as that is not too old for a dog.

Time is the only healer I know.  I really do feel for you and wish I had a magic wand to get rid of your pain.  Alas, I don't.  Give your 7 year old boxer lots of hugs, you have both lost your best friend and will find some comfort hopefully in each other.

    :(

  14. Im so sorry for your loss.
