I lost my contact case, so I put my contacts in a little container overnight with no solution in them?

Now they're kind of shriveled looking, and they're hard. (They're soft lenses.) If I get my solution and put some on them, will they go back to normal?

  1. Probably not. But you can still try pouring solution on them and see what happens.... Don't try to move them if you haven't already. They can stick to the bottom. If you can get them to regain their shape, take them to the eye doctor and have them inspected. There can be tiny cuts you can't see that will hurt you later if you continue to wear them.

Next time, try putting water in the container. I was at someone's house and had to spend the night, so I took two glasses and put water in them and pushed the contacts below the water. Clean them really well with solution, etc. when you can later. It's better than nothing.

  2. I'm sorry to tell you that there's no hope : they won't go to normal...

  3. There is no hope.  If you had soak them in some water initially then you might have been able to use them again when you re-soak them with solution later.

  4. no throw them away get a new pair to put in

  5. If your lucky you might be able to revive them, but probably not, they just sucked all the moisture out of them, and even if they go back soft, they probably won't fit your eyes correctly. Good Luck.

  6. yea, that happened to me once and they are basically ruined

  7. they'll be fine, but don't touch them.  They might have stuck to the bottom of the container as they shriveled up...don't be tempted to check 'em out until they've soaked for at least 6 hours.

  8. if you're lucky. don't touch them and let them soak for a long time or they will be very uncomfortable, but they should be fine.

  9. yes,you might be lucky to revive your contacts in its original texture, but beware, your contacts have already attract microorganisms in them...In short it may be dangerous to use them again because contacts are made to be soaked in contact lens solution not just in any kind of water.

  10. I don't think so.  You're not supposed to let soft lenses dry EVER.  They should always be wet.

  11. put some solution on them they come back to life and clean them before you put them back in
