Get to your local auto parts store and buy the Chilton's or Haynes manual to your truck.  That way you have no mistakes.  If not, visit the reference section of your local library.  You'll find similar references there.

If you want the firing order for the 5.0 engine used in E-series vans and F-series trucks, it should be 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. The distributor turns counter clockwise.
