I lost my key to my car! Danggggg. What should I do?

My car is unlocked now, so I can still go inside it, but I do not have a key(really mad at myself for being too lazy to get a copy of the only key i had). Is my only option to get new ignition with matching key door thinger installed? Seems pricy, and I'm 17 with a low paying job. Would it be possible to get the same key made somehow and leave the ignition n stuff there? I know that would be tough, but do they do that?

Please tell me prices for this job too.

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely, guy who's pissed off at himself

  1. Look in the phone book and have a locksmith come out and make you a key. As far as prices, call around.

  2. ok  heres what u gotta do ,get your vin number from the car ,get your title for the car ,your drivers licsence and go to the dealership and tell them you need a spare . GM does this for you but i dont know what kind of car you have. the reason you need the title and I.D is so they know its your car

  3. Call a lock smith, they should be able to make you a new one if you do not want to get a new ignition.

  4. go to dealer with vin no. they can make you a new set.

the newer cars have cded keys. 90-150 for replacement.
