  1. get a replacement passport

  2. If you're entering Mexico from the US and are a US citizen then you don't need a passport for Mexico. The 3 items you mentioned will do the job perfectly. Trust me, so go have a nice time. You will not even be asked for a passport if a US citizen. What part of Mexico are you visiting?????? If your driving into Mexico from the US they will not even check you at the border. Everybody just drives through. 10-12 miles below the border is a checkpoint and it is here where they may ask you for ID. Make sure you get car insurance at the border to cover your car and Mexico property damage. This is a mandatory requirement for driving a US car in Mexico or you can lose your car to the authorities. US car insurance is not valid in Mexico no matter what your car insurance agent tells you. Always pick up a policy at the border and it only takes a 1/2 hour of your time and cost is reasonable depending on how long your visit is in Mexico.

  3. you might be screwed... all that other stuff might work... depends who you get at the border crossing... good luck

  4. Get another one.

  5. you should be able to get into and out of mexico with just your birth certificate and drivers license..however i would make sure by calling the border control before you go

  6. you can take your birth certificate i believe

  7. You can call the US Department of State at 877-487-2778.  You might be able to get a temporary one to go on your trip.

  8. No you need a passport. Go to INS with your I.D.and the sooner the better

  9. No !!! you absolutely need a passeport i suggest you get a new one done but do it fast cause they take some time to get ready...good luck !!!

  10. I think they lifted the need for a passport to go to Mexico in July 2007, so you should be o.k. to go to Mexico without it. But, do take your birth certificate and driver's license.

Of course you could get a replacement, but if you need it immediately it's better to get an appt. through their phone system (best to call after 9p) and take the day off so that you can pick-it up the same day. It costs a little more, but you'll have it the same day if you take morning appt.

  11. passports are mandatory to enter the u.s.

  12. Bobe is correct...you do not need a passport to  travel to Mexico by Land until after SUMMER 2008.  See website below and read top  half of the page carefully for the CURRENT info.  Your certified birth certificate and picture I.D. will be fine.  If you are only going to go to Baja or Sonora or less than 12 miles into any other part if Mexico, you do not need a car permit.  Call your car ins. co. and ask if they cover you for the short trip.  If not, see 2nd site below for my fav. ins. place. Have a great trip.

  13. Ask if theres a faster way that they can ship you your passport. I know my uncle had paid for rush delivery and it got there in about one week

  14. You don't need a passport to enter Mexico, but you will need one to re-enter the U.S.

  15. you should tell her what happened

  16. try looking for it a bit more,it's usually in place's you wont look for it

if not you need a passport to go to another country,so if you think you wont get your passport in time then phone your friend and tell her you wont be able to see her on her b-day

  17. They passed a new law recently and you can get into Mexico without a passport!! My brother flew to Colorado and waited in line for an entire day to get his passport on time and they passed this law the day he left!!
