I thought I had it in my wallet, but it turns out it's for the other textbook I bought. I have no idea where it is and I want to know if I can still sell it back (i know its probably not going to happen) but I just thought i'd ask.

  1. just call the store where you got it from.

when i sell books back at the end of the semester i don't need a reciept. but at that time i don't get full price. if you have the wrapper on i bet you'd get full price. and if not, if it's like your college bookstore, i bet they'd still take it.

    just call them!

  2. My local "The Campus Bookstore" and the college's in school bookstore will take used books back with or without a reciept. Don't expect to get as much as you paid though, you'll only get near half. :(

You could also try selling it to friends or on a website such as eBay.com or Craigslist.org....

  3. no i dont think so

  4. You probably won't get the same price for it as if you had the receipt. The bookstore where I went to school gave better rates to the people who could prove they had bought the books there. They may buy it at a lower rate though you can always ask. I would recommend looking into selling it on e-bay or half.com or something though. I bought lots of my books on those sites instead of at my school's bookstore. You may actually be able to get a higher amount that way.

  5. No you do not need a receipt. You now own those books, if the school wishes to buy them back off you, then it is just a reverse sale; they didn't need a receipt for those books when you bought them.

Only time you need a receipt is when you want to return or exchange the item and not when you want to resell an item.

  6. They probably won't let you return it for the full price, but I'm sure they would buy it. If they don't, there are plenty of online sites that buy used textbooks.

  7. You don't need the receipt to sell back textbooks. You only need a receipt if you plan on receiving a full refund back for your textbooks which usually applies within 7 business days of your direct purchase.

  8. try putting an add up on Facebook or in the school.  You'll take a bit of a hit but you will probably get more for it there than the book store.  I doubt they'll take it back they are pretty picky about that (at least in the few schools I've been to).  If you have it on plastic they might be able to look it up . . . .other retailers do I don't know about book store though.

  9. You will have to talk to the people at your school bookstore to find out what their policy is. But if you can't sell your textbooks back, you can still sell them at half.com
