I lost my retainer and teeth moved a little need help?

i lost my retainer like 1 month ago and now there is a very small i say about 1cm a little smaller. i am going to get a new one next monday i will be going in for the the sizing. But will i need to wear braces on the top again? please help

  1. if you don't wear the retainer the teeth will move slightly, not sure if you will need braces again but it depends if the new retainer will fit again, good luck!


  2. This is for your orthodontist to determine. Some people MUST wear their retainer or any small shifts can result in getting braces again. Some people can never wear them and it won't affect their teeth much. It depends on how much you need them. Your orthodontist should have told you in the beginning how important it was for you to be wearing them. I couldn't wear mine for a week because of my oral surgery and when I put them back on they were very tight. But I got used to it very quickly and now my teeth are fine. So, for your situation, I can't really say if you will need it again or not. It's your orthodontist's decision.

  3. Don't think you'll need braces again. Wear you retainer regularly, hope the new one fit well. =)
