im getting a new one soon and i have been wearing a retainer for over a year

  1. If you're getting a new one soon, you really have nothing to worry about. The orthodontist will make sure you get it way before your teeth to move back to their old positions.

    but if you ever break your retainer again, make sure you tell you orthodontist right away. It takes only about a month for your teeth to start moving. A few months, and you might need braces again.
