  1. how are we suppose to help you??? but i am so sorry i know what your going  through just keep looking...you will find him .......look in the places u wouldnt look

and yes he would be able to smell that mouse a mile away

  2. Hello; I am very sorry to hear about Kiko. :(

Look for dark, enclosed areas. They are often in warm locations, but the times I have lost my snakes; I have found them in 'cool' spots as well. Try looking under furniture, near TVs and electrical equipment, under rugs, near stoves, water heaters, or refrigerators, in/under cabinets, etc.

However; these guys turn up in some of the quirkiest places, so don't leave any stone unturned, so to speak. For example: I found mine under the piano once, my friend found hers in the rim of her toilet, another friend found his in a potted plant, another friend found hers in a chair under a pile of laundry, and my cousin found hers on a book shelf.

Also; do you happen to have cats or dogs, perchance? If so; pay VERY close attention to their behavior until you find your snake. If you see them acting strangely or are seemingly fascinated with something that you can't see, run over there and check to see if they found Kiko. I have found my Kingsnake that way when he got out; luckily I got to him before one of my cats or dogs did.

One thing to keep in mind is that snakes can stay alive indoors for weeks; months even. It isn't too uncommon for someone to lose their snake and find it six months later; so if you can't find your snake immediately, please don't give up hope. :)

I hope this helps, and if you have any further questions at all on the subject; please feel free to message me and I will be more than happy to assist you. And for what it's worth; I sincerely hope you find him. :)

    Good luck!

  3. Look in all the places in your house that would be perfect for a python can live. That includes in and around heaters/lightsources, near water/or humid places in your house, and good hiding places a human would never look from a snakes point of view. I would put the mouse out and rub it on washible surfaces near the tank in the middle of the room, and leave it out in the open.

  4. Yes!  The baited mouse trap will work!   We found our boa   behind the refrigerator.

  5. look in the places u wouldnt look

and yes he would be able to smell that mouse a mile away

  6. first of all, he would be able to smell the mouse, but that probably won't work since he will now know it's dead. your best bet: live bait. if you can, put a live mouse or hamster in a cage with bars wide enough that he could get in, but too close together to get back out once's he's eaten. leave it sit on the floor and wait patiently, very patiently.

remember, ball pythons are nocturnal. they are also known for their ability to fast, so don't expect food traps to work right away. good luck.

  7. The best places to look are under the fridge and stove (the like the heat) also in the clothes hamper under piles of clothes.  Don’t forget they can climb…look on table legs in room corners in closets…depending on how small the snake is look in shoes.  If you have hardwood or vinyl floors you could put a row of flour down at doorways and such, if the snake crosses the flour it will trail…you will at least be able to tell which way the snake went.  A friend of ours found his ball python in a bag of substrate that he had bought…there was a hole that the snake went in through.  It will show up eventually.  We had one ball python that used to get out and go up under a table (there was a “shelf” under the table where the snake liked to go.  Another ball python got out and went into the couch cushions…another time he got out and just went exploring.  Another ball python got out and went behind a large blanket chest.  Another ball python got out and she was gone for about 3 weeks then one night we heard a crash and went to investigate and she was on top of the table going toward her “house”.  Lets see…we had a blood python that got out and crawled up on top of the ball python cage another blood got out and went under his cage.  Our kingsnake got out and we found her in a dresser drawer.  The point is we have had lots of escapes and none of them were permanently lost…snakes are crazy.

  8. We actually had this happen with our ball. We practically tore the house up looking for him. Spent all day looking.

We were about to give up when my hubby decided to check under the fridge. There he was, all curled up. Remember, being loose in the house, they will search for a heat source. Check your fridge and any other warm spots in the house. Good luck, hope you find him soon!

Actually, it was my wifes ball python, she was pretty little when this happend, to tell you the truth I personally belive she was a dwarf ball, put dont have any bloodwork to back that up.

Good luck finding your pet, it can be so stressful on a keeper.

Like she said, I found ours under the refrigerator, with heat and a fan, she was cozy, that was the ONLY time we had an escape, I made certain there were no more, we had other MUCH LARGER snakes at the time.

Some of you that have multiple escapes seem to be rather irresponsible, you may want to rethink your pet of choice. Someone or one of them could get hurt one day.

  9. check warm dark places

  10. put his mice out and cut them a little so it can be some blood....the put a little hiding close to where the mice is then check in there all through the night because ..he will probably only come out at night so turn off ALL the lights  and dont go to sleep but be really queit and check for him during the night time ...................and look in the place that you wouldnt expect and i bet you find him

    hope this helps  :^)

  11. not that familiar w/snakes but we had a iguana who liked to hide-try all closets-any doors w/cracks under them-laundry room-under beds-behind dressers-could he have gotten down in any vents(heating and air)also try under appliances-maybe even bottom of stove(where u might keep pans) try the mouse-put it out in the open -good luck!

  12. Well, you can look everywhere in your house. If that doesn't work, just take the rat and walk around the house. Or you can try cleaning up and ya might find him. Good luck!
